As you can see from the rest of my site, I haven't got much men's jewellery on here... other than wedding rings!
This doesn't mean I do not design and make men's jewellery, I simply find it easier to design and make women's jewellery...as I am a woman and I design things I might like to wear...pretty simple really.
I always find it difficult to find gifts for men, as unlike women, you can't just opt for something unique and pretty. A lot of men don't wear much jewellery, but there is always something you can do to give them a lovely and personal gift...
For example:
RINGS: Something relatively plain, nothing too fancy, with a slight edginess to it.
I have had requests for rings from my "Erosion" collection as gifts for men, which have gone down a treat! They are unusual, and not too fussy. The broad width combines with the black colour and jagged edges to appeal to him, while the women enjoy buying something pretty.
CUFFLINKS: I also create silver and gold cufflinks, both fixed back and swivel back. I will add some examples of my mens jewellery shortly...so keep your eye out.
I think cufflinks make a great gift for birthdays, christmas, anniversaries, or a momento for a special occassion.
My "fixed-back" cufflinks tend to hold cabachon cut semi-precious gemstones, and so, come in a huge variety of colours! This is particularly lovely idea for wedding jewellery as it can subtly link the bride and groom through the use of the same gemstones.
My "swivel-backed" cufflinks (meaning they have a torpedo shaped bar at the back which swivels to allow it to pass through the button hole and hold the cufflink in place) are generally more about the metal and the finish. Coming in an array of colours (yellow gold, rose gold, white gold, silver) and finishes (hammered, polished, satinised, oxidised, enamelled, etc etc), and can also hold a small accent stone if desired.
So next time you feel a little stumped for a gift for a man in your life, contact me for images of previously commissioned cufflinks and rings... I may even have a new section of my website dedicated to men's jewellery coming soon.
Hope you visit again soon,
Kathleen.
